I've just found this site, which helps to brighten a frosty morning (-1 Celsius but the sun's shining).
Best wishes to you all.

Welcome to FADU. Isn't Invercargill Burt Munro's place? He was a great character from a dying breed, mores the pity.

Minus 1. eh? I have 28 degrees centigrade in the darkroom tonight.

Mike

Thanks, Mike. Yes this was Burt's home town and he's still remembered. A display has just been set up in one of our arcades; I'll see what pictures I can sneak.
Incidentall, my fater was Northampton born.

Thanks, Vincent. I've just obtained some Adox IR 120 film, so there'll be some new work once my darkroom thaws out.

Hi Stan

Isn't it great to be able to speak to like minded individuals around the world so easily.

Welcome aboard

Welcome Stan - you must be the furthest FADU member yet, but in this place we're all close neighbours I guess.

My other half is a kiwi, but she's from slightly warmer territory up in Nelson. Love my visits there, but have never made it to Invercargill I'm afraid.
Watched the Burt Munro film again on TV here the other night. Great story, I'd read the book and have the DVD as well.

Stan, I would be interested to know how you get on with the 120 Adox infrared film as I am down to my last three cassettes of frozen Kodak infrared and are looking for a replacement.

Cheers,

Neil.

You'd better make it south next trip. I've got some special places down here.

Mono; I used a little of the original Maco film ages ago, and found the results really impressive, even with mf. I was using an 89B filter.
