Many years ago when I used to mount prints for exhibition purposes, I trained in graphics and exhibition design, we used to use what I can only describe as a rubbery solution which we spotted onto the back of a print before mounting it onto mount card. Once the exhibition was over the adhesive could be rubbed with the finger from the back of the print and mount board leaving no signs of it ever having been used but I cannot for the life of me remember what it was called. I am not referring to the products supplied by Ademco of High Wycombe, in fact I did used to work for them in a previous life. But if anyone can remember what I am referring to I will be most grateful for the information

Cow Gum as such is no longer available but appears to have been replaced by a product called Studio Gum, available for art suppliers.

A web search revels it's present day counterpart as Studio Gum (http://www.discountart.co.uk/Studio_Gum_cat_149.html); maybe the cows complained. I only hope it smells as good as the original product.

If you are still looking for something, There is a product in the states called Studio Tack. It has a removable adhesive that is rubbed on to the photo. It is easily removed although if it is a large photo it would take some time.

I prefer to put the print into self adhesive Mylar corners at the bottom, so itīs easily removable. That fulfills even archival purposes.

Not quite your question...

I used to love the smell of Cow Gum in the morning! and when every self respecting paste up artist had a Cow Gum rubber (like a giant bogie) beside their desk!

Unfortunately with all the H&S regulations nowadays we have to use a http://www.londongraphics.co.uk/acatalog/Online_Catalogue_Xyron_A3_Pro_1255_Multi_Finisher_ 450.html in our studio

Hi Keneth

I have used this product with great success.

http://www.7dayshop.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=777_1&products_id=102118

The product is non permanent and will just rub off with your finger.

I hope this will be of some help.
