I just found out that prices for Tri-X 400 35mm film went up steeply in Germany. What's more, bulk film now is actually more expensive over here than buying the same quantity in canisters! Also, my source of rebranded Tri-X in Germany just dried out too.

Buying from the US is no option because of excessive S&H fees and customs rates.

Do you know of any source of TRi-X 400 (also rebranded Tri-X) in the UK that sells via mail-order at reasonable prices? Bulk would be preferred, but in canisters would be ok too.

Depends what you call cheap. Have you looked at our sponsors websites?

Well It looks as if Agphotographic one of our sponsors will deliver to Germany.

Silverprint might do the same. Try Mailshots as well. I can't say if these two will post to the EU but check their websites.

Well, a roll of Tri-X 400 135/36 currently goes for about 7 € in downtown Munich, and I'd say that's a bit steep.

I will look at your sponsors' websites.

I get my 35mm and 120 film from Mathers. Very cheap and very quick. Don't know if they post to Germany.

Silverprint sells Bulk and will ship to Germany but it has a minimum order of about £100 I think.
Morco also say they ship to Europe but you have to contact them for a price.
All the details are on their web sites.

Thanks all for your quick replies!

Folker - that's an interesting offer. Tha last time I looked into Maco some four weeks ago, they didn't have this offer. Sounds interesting indeed.

Wow I have just look at Folker's link to Maco. Given the shipping charges from the U.K. I doubt if this can be beaten if you live in Germany

I don't think 7dayshop will deliver outside the U.K. Pity about this for other non UK EU residents as they are very cheap on film

Mike,

The competitiveness of 7dayshop seems to vary wildly by product. e.g. low prices on 4x5" but not so on some other '120' and '135' films.

Yes Tom Like almost all retailers it pays to look carefully. Last time I looked it seemed quite competitive on D3200 as well in 35mm especially if buying 4 or more rolls together.

The interesting thing about 7 day shop prices is that even if you add 17.5% to their prices, they are still a lot cheaper than many other UK suppliers and they give free shipping too.

It's the Tesco action plan. Stack it high and sell it cheap - but only the top selling lines. :(

Yes and it works. They are not much good for anything else photographic wise apart from a few papers.
