Following on from the thread about split grade printing has anyone seen Chris Woodhouse tutorial on the RH Designs website Beyond Monochrome, on using the Analyser.
I have had a analyser for some years, but I didn't know how to use the burn in facility till after watching, simples as the TV advert says.

Hi Peter

Chris has been hard at work on these videos for a while now, and links to them will appear on our main site in due course. Thanks for pointing them out; here's a clickable link (http://www.beyondmonochrome.co.uk/main/Insights_and_Support/Insights_and_Support.html) to the index page. I'm glad you found them useful!

I found them just by chance - they are well worth seeing; there is nothing like being shown how to do things, rather than reading instructions.
Chris should get a big thank you for all that work......

David.

Another useful link,.thanks. Incidentally Chris gives away his instructions free of charge on making a better test strip printer in Ralph Lambrecht's library on his site "Darkroom Magic"

I got a DIY mate of mine who has access to a plastic laser cutter to do it in black and white plastic but it is perfectly feasible in wood. As long as you can cut and measure reasonably accurately, you will be able to do it.

Well worth reading and attempting

On my PC the videos don't display - I just get the sound and a black frame in Firefox or a white frame in Internet Explorer.

You may have to download the Apple Q software before it will work, I did. :(

The movies are in Quicktime format, download available here (http://www.apple.com/quicktime/). Be aware that it may want to install iTunes as well - if you don't want that be sure to tell it so!

Yup, I have the Quicktime plugin version 7.6.4 Updating Quicktime was the first thing I tried - without success.

Or, if you find this kind of cross-promotion of stuff you neither need nor want as scummy as I do, you can download Media Player Classic here (http://mpc-hc.sourceforge.net/download-media-player-classic-hc.html) which is a far better media player than anything from any of the big players and plays almost anything (tho, if it is a streaming feed then you may have to use the official QT plugin)...

Are you able to view Quicktime movies from other sites?

Yes, I have not had problems viewing other movies - and I can also see these movies on my office computer (beats working :))

... and now it also works here after I upgraded again - to Quicktime 7.6.5 - problem solved.
