Toning

As Rudman's book is now very expensive on the market, would you be able to recommend any other toning books for begginers, please?

I have two books on toning. Tim's book which is my own and I think is THE toning book par excellence and probably cannot be bettered and Tony Worobiec's Toning and Handcolouring.

The latter is shorter, less comprehensive and scientific but very practical and had I never heard of Tim's book and then got it I'd probably say that Tony's book was top of the list. It is well worth getting anyway

I think Tony's is still available although mine's a library book so I cannot pass it on :D:

Depending on how long I could wait for Tim's book and if it were me, I'd probably try to obtain Tony's book to be going on with while waiting for Tim's reprint. You will not be wasting your money if you eventually buy both.

Tony's by the way has a short section on handcolouring and Tim touches on toning in his Master Printing Course book.

Bob and anyone else. At these prices go for it. Tony's book brand new is about £20. Tim's will give you more in the way of scientific background to toning but at less than a £5 it is great value and will get you going until Tim is able to get the reprint.

I might well buy Tony's myself for my library as eventually the public library will want my copy back.

Following your tips, I just bought Tony Worobiec's but will be keen to get Tim Rudman's reprint when it becomes availiable. Thank you all.
