I would like to number my LF negs after they have been developed

is there a special type of pen for this or is a sharpie ok

Robin, I'm assuming you wish to actually mark the negative itself? I number the corner of the clear negative sheet with a permanent black pen which prints white on the contact sheet. I do however use one of these (http://www.londongraphics.co.uk/acatalog/Online_Catalogue_Copic_Multiliner_SP_Pens_834.html ) to spot my LF negatives; I use the very fine 0.03mm, which could be used to number the rebate of the negative.

I use Staedtler Lumocolor pens as HERE (http://www.staedtler.co.uk/Lumocolor_permanent_universal_pen_uk.Staedtler).

If I need to mark my negs I use a china graph pencil. but it can rub off.
