Hi

Quick question. When you mix potassium alum solution into sodium thiosulphate solution do you get a white to cream coloured precipitate ?

And if so does it settle out to the bottom ?

Rob.

Yes. That milky stuff does nothing apart from looking a bit nasty, and I found it settles on the surface of a print while in the solution, so I wipe it off to check how a print is doing.
Wont matter if it ends up in your working solution.

Yep, nothing to worry about. It also tends to stick to the bottom of the bottle but again no big trouble.

Hi,
Richard L & Marty thanks for your answers I will stop worrying about it but it “don’t half stick” on to anything it dry’s on.
