I've tried a few homebrew recipes using the various formulas posted on the internet. The most common one would be the Kodak D-85 followed by Ansco 79 (and 79B), and then the Dupont LD-1 & D-7. These all use the same ingredients, and if you crunch the numbers, the quantities are identical for the "working" solution (minor variation in bromide & potassium/sodium [meta|bi]sulphite of less than 7%). The downside is they all use paraformaldehyde which can be difficult to source.

The D-85 mix stock solutions keep fairly well and work at a variety of dilutions, but I rarely get much in the way of colours unless the prints are toned afterwards - It may be the papers I use...

The Ansco 81 and Dupont LD-2 formulas also work and have the advantage of not containing paraformaldehyde.
