I loved the fact his abode was more cluttered than mine. I showed my wife and was hoping she would accept that it was a 'photographers' thing but it didn't do much good.

It doesn't help that the tidiest room in the house is my darkroom. :D

I presume that was just his studio that was so cluttered... A very familiar look.
Loved it. Never heard of him until now, but what a great fellow.

Never heard of him until now, but what a great fellow.

Neither had I heard of him but quickly looking at some of his pictures on google, I like a lot of them.

Must watch the first episode before it disappears from iplayer in five days and counting!!!

I've just watched the programme on BBC iplayer = and what a great character Saul Leiter turns out to be! :)

He really is one of those people that you could have talk about just about anything on camera and he would have made it interesting.

He also produces some nice pictures btw if you stop on by google...

The only little nark that got me, was the directors non use of a tripod for most of the filming, with the camera wobbling about even during longer segments of the same composition.

Worth watching though before it disappears people!

I was quite "familiar" with his "WET" style. But this programme was so amazingly comprehensive.
