We all know that B+W film seems to last for years and apparently still works perfectly fine.
Some recent tests I did with papers surprised me how much old papers lose availble contrast. So the question is, "Why don't films lose that amount of contrast over time?". Maybe they do but we just put it down to lighting conditions or needed more development for the conditions.
Has anyone ever tested the contrast difference between fresh film and film 2 or 3 years old?
