Thanks Tony. The velvet stipple finish is very difficult to scan - I had to re-photograph the print with my son's d***tal camera. A flat bed scan just produced a snow storm!

I can vouch for the quality of this print as I'm looking at the original. It's quite a lot warmer than the scan, which suits it very well. An absolutely delightful image!
I think the motto is 'Never chuck out old paper!' - Now where's that 40 year old Record Rapid?!

Dave - I haven't ever tried toning but that is something I want to have a go at. I'm not sure where to start - I guess the best way is to get some chemicals and dive in - and just see what comes out!

Martin, might be worth having a look at Wolfgang Moersch's site. He sells a whole range of toners and has done some superb toned prints of flowers to demonstrate what different toners are capable of.
