Steve has gone for a cropped Lith version of my neg to give, as he says, "a more nostalgic look to the image". I think it works really well and am very pleased.:)
It was printed on Kentmere Fineprint warmtone, developed in Moersch SE5 and given 1/3 stop burn around the edge apart from the bottom right side.

My version is my usual whole frame printed at grade two with a slight burn in the corners and the boys held back about 10%. Printed on multigrade iv dev'd in Agfa WA.

The shot was taken on my super Ikonta about five years ago but developed a couple of weeks ago! I have a box of mystery films from the last, darkroomless, ten years which I'm now beginning to explore.

I like both versions of this print, they both have their own qualities.

Although if I was to do it... I would have cropped out the bag as in SteveO's version and burnt in the sky area above the left hand boys head little bit.

I marginally prefer the one where the boys recede more into the bigger picture. It says "little boys and big tree in a forest setting". However this version would require the removal of the bag before exposing.

Thanks for the comments.... yes, the bags the thing isn't it... every way you look at it says get rid of it, but that's why I left it in the shot and my print..;) For me it adds a little extra dimension to the picture, which remains in the end a family snap.
