Probably the very last frame of a trip to Cornwall in 2010, made for a series I am doing on Cornish Tin Mines. The camera was tripod mounted inside the building looking out, and this was one of a few compositions I made at the time, and would have most probably been the weakest if it hadn't been for the women walking in to the frame with her dog. She was actually walking towards me, but I like to think that she is heading away from me on a mysterious journey. all in my head of course. The other frames I took that morning didn't work as well.

The image is telling a story to me, too, as you said.
The woman works for me: either coming towards you or leaving the scene.
And the mist adds atmosphere.
I canīt imagine it to be a weak image, for me itīs a good one!

A very good interpretation, Stoo. You have used the low cloud / mist to good effect and it works well to set the mood for the lone walker. I look forward to seeing more of your series on the Cornish tin mines in due course.

Excellent interpretation Stoo. Works for me for the reasons you have already given. I'm pleased I saw the original print, a little gem Smile

Yes Stoo,
Much better photo than the one that won!!! Both in composition, mood and theme. Hope to post some more colour shots soon taken with the Holga and printed by me!!!! I just need to acquire a heated Nova processor.

Thank you all gents for your kind comments.

It is good that we have a shared vision regarding images made with these little plastic cameras.

The mist was actually that very fine drizzle, you know, the stuff that you spend five minutes in and get absolutely soaked right through, so a gift on the day, as It made me head indoors and make this image.

Paul, you are a brave man. I will look forward to seeing some of your colour work.

All the best

Stoo
