My offering for this round is a shot from a visit that I made to Lacock Abbey a couple of years ago. It is nothing special. I simply liked the way the light was raking across the door.
The challenge was in holding the camera steady as I used a small aperture, f22 I think, to get the required depth of field, and as I had left my tripod in my car some distance away, it was hand-held at around a 1/30th. I guess this task was probably helped by the fact that I was using my Mamiya RB67 fitted with a 50mm lens; it’s difficult to shake one of those lumps; or maybe that day I just got lucky.

One of the features of an interesting tonal composition is that you can turn an image upsidedown or sideways and it will still appear balanced. This shot is a really excellent abstract composition of light and dark with its strong rectangles dividing up the paper and that incisive diagonal.
You've also got fabulous detail in that weathered grain. Many thanks - it's one for the wall.
It's practice that makes for luck !!

Are they still brewing at the Abbey? Perhaps your nerves were settled by the couple of ales you had earlier imbibed...

Maybe it's just my monitor but it has a definite but delicate blue look which I like( if it is indeed there)
It sounds contradictory but the intense sunlight combined with the delicate cool blue look gives a hint of "dangerous moonlight" which adds just a touch of surrealism in what your rational brain says is just an ordinary scene.
It works for me, as you will have deduced.
