Peter, this is a very fine photograph. You've managed lovely recession of planes, captured the rim lighting on the trees and held detail in both the shadows and the bright sky. Technically it's is very skilful, but more than that you have struck a restful and balanced composition. If it wasn't for the clothing of the people in the photograph this could from any time in the last century.

Peter, try looking at the pic when you've pulled the pic down to the very bottom of the screen. I first looked at it when the pic was about 1.5 cms above the bottom of the screen and thought that most of the shadows had blocked up but pulling it carefully down to the bottom of the screen made a difference.Shadows ceased to be blocked up but probably not as open as on the print


However the plain fact is that unless we have the print in our hands we are unlikely to be able to appreciate the full range of tones.


I used to have a cathode ray type deep VDU as opposed to my current flat LED screen and the quality of the pictures on the old screen were much less dependent on where they were on the screen
