Almost there for me Richard.
I just find my eyes jumping between the white rag(?) and the bright area in the background - toning this area down would have helped I think, giving just one bright area as the main focal point.

Looking at it again Derek, you may be right that the 'white rag' may in fact be a 'stream' but I can only state what I see.
I'm sure on a full size print in the hand the content would be much more obvious.
