This is a photo I produced at a workshop on toning. The print was first sepia toned and then went into the selenium toner.

The toning is what attracted me Vincent. I have done both of the toners you have mentioned but never one after the other. After seeing your lovely toned print, I must give it a go.

A very attractive image. I particularly like the fine details of the branches

Thanks Simon and ymgandy for your comments. I did on another version start to hand colour with photo colours by putting spots of yellow, blue and green on the leaves but I got fed up doing it as it was so slow.

I have often wondered about hand-colouring myself, Vincent. There is an excellent hand-colourer on APUG called Eddie and it would appear that practice certainly speeds thing up. Having asked him, he does complete pictures in what seems to me amazingly short times.

Interestingly, colouring small but crucial pieces can work well. Of course it depends on the scene but I was amazed the difference just colouring the broken white lines in a road to yellow made to the look of one of his pictures.
