Jono I feel your photo is lacking in contrast and would advise printing it with a higher number filter to increase its impact. You guys are blessed with a great landscape on your doorsteps and you must have an endless variety of shots to take. All the more reason you should always use a tripod to ensure sharpness throughout your photo.

Your photo is quite stunning, although I'm not sure that I would have included that sign on the LHS in the picture area.

Thanks Vincent for your constructive comments.

I have for some reason not gotten used to the tripod, but that is on my list of new year's resolutions.

As far as contrast goes, it so happens that I have been looking through my photos and realised that I often printed them too dark and low in contrast. Another resolution: Improve printing. I also will replace my viewing light in the darkroom as I think it is too bright and has influenced my judgement.

I am unsure whether more contrast is the solution and it may be that my statement doesn't reflect what Vincent is thinking of but I had difficulty distinguishing what is in the middle ground which I think is a road and buildings. The mountains are great but the water in the middle between the foreground and the mountains looks a little indistinct but is an integral part of the scene so needs to make more impact on the viewer.

It is great scenery
