Lovely image, Richard. The IR effect on the trees is very nice, and you have avoided the blown out highlights that can spoil IR images. It's interesting to me that the ghostly effect of the foliage on the tree on the right, which looks like a Horse Chestnut, is identical to some shots of these trees I've made in the local park. The leaves come out in a different way from other species, and have a sort of glow to them.
Alex.

A very nice photo Richard with a strongly pronounced IR effect and what appears to be no grain!
Most IR photos that I've seen, has had distractingly large visible grain, what's your secret?

Alex it was your forays into IR that inspired me to give it a try i had the film for at least 3yrs but was unsure how to use it until the posts you did on the subject so I use ASA6 for my meter. I think the r/h tree is an Ash but your right about the ghostly effect this view had strong sunlight at almost 90deg to the right of me and i think that it was what made the difference here.
Marty i believe that Rollei IR400 is a fine grain film and I have so far used an aperture of f11 only to help with the focus problem I have very little technical knowledge about photography so no possibility of secrets just lucky accidents.
Thanks for your kind comments gents.
Richard

Excellent IR shot Richard. Like you I just started using Rollei IR400 this year and I'm happy with some of the results that I obtained. I also rated the film at 6 ISO, but I developed it in stock ID11 for 6 minutes. What really impresses me about your print is the lovely warm tone you have achieved using the Bromophen. I use MG developer, so I'll have to have a go with Bromophen.

Thanks for your comments Vincent, its interesting that you developed in stock I might try that next time as I am not sure that my development was that good, although the negatives printed ok the edge printing on the film looked a bit washed out.
As for the Bromophon I really like it especially with the MG Satin, but when I scan the prints it has to be in colour mode or they come out very cold.
