Taken at a local Circus, using and Olympus Mjuii compact 35mm camera.

1st film through the camera so wanted to test under different conditions, and I think it coped very well. Not bad for £5 off E-bay.

This is a great action shot, and a great composition. It just shows what you can do with a compact camera and a bit of thought about how to get the shot.

Thanks Alex, I must admit I was impressed with what the little box of tricks could do.

Yes, its just a really eye catching interesting shot- there is movement, I love the darkness, the smoke adds mystery and drama, the lighting, the sign to the right etc. And in another way, its a simple shot... one thing of interest, composed very nicely. Its one of those ones where the shot is everything and the print is secondary - and the print is very nice BTW!

Very happy to have it in the collection of prints!

Thanks Fran, I was relying on the bright areas to underexpose the background as the camera is fully auto. On the negative there is some detail in the dark areas of the print, hence printing it at high contrast and burning in the highlight areas.
Once again glad you liked it.

Really nice - very atmospheric and captures the moment perfectly.

A good night shot. In good condition and yours obviously is, a Mjuii is a real bargain at £5. Is this the non zoom variety? How close were you to the acrobat? One of the slight drawbacks is that the lens is only 35mm( albeit really quite superb) so really wide angle but it hasn't detracted here at all.

I have a non zoom Mjuii. This has tempted me to put a film in it again.

Thanks for the nice comments. Sorry mike, mine is one of the zoom ones 120mm, I did think about the fixed lens version as the quality of the lens is probably better, but I wanted a nice camera to take when out with the wife and son. Very good quality, I had one before but had lens flare problem, so bought another one.

Sometimes less sophistication produces something special as it has here.
