taken at the battle of Jersey celebrations this year, this was at Grouville church, which is in the morning before going into St Helier for the main part of the day. I was used to seeing the Drummer boy, son of one of the soldiers of the 1781 Jersey Militia, but this new recruit is the daughter of a soldier, I used my Leica IIIf for this shot

I like the composition of the group. Normally the children would be the ones distracted, but this time something has caught the attention of the adults. It gives the picture an extra dimension beyond the portrait of the young Soldiers.
