I very much like the pools of light in this picture Alex. They give it an intriguing atmosphere- where is everybody in this town? A picture that you can keep looking at.

Has a touch of Brassai about it. Bet it looks great on FB glossy. Nice one Alex!

Thanks, Derek and Tony. I think everyone would have been enjoying a meal or a drink in the various restaurants. Thatís where I was heading when I spotted this view. I can recommend this town to anyone who enjoys visiting Tuscany.

just enough variation in tone to give it a wonderful atmosphere. Nicely done

It looks beautiful Alex - there is beautiful low level detail in the dark parts of the photo that you notice as you look at it for a bit longer. Mastery of printing there on show!

Thanks to you both, Mitch and Fran. I enjoy low light photography, but it's difficult to be out at the right time at home, before it is completely dark. It was good to be able to wait for that point where the street lighting is on, but there is still some light in the sky. The Delta 3200 film is ideal for this sort of situation.

Very nice indeed, Alex - love the contrast in the scene and the composition is superb, the lighter tones on the cobbles leading the eye in.
