After 1781, when the French tried to invade Jersey, and were soundly beaten in the Battle of Jersey, a series of Jersey round towers were built around the coast, each with 3 canons on top and each within sight of each other, this tower at Noirment had to be buiolt out on rocks due to where Noirment is, so that it could be seen from the other 2 towers, not a nice place to spend your week on duty in winter, when if the sea is up you could not get back to land

Looks like an interesting place, Richard. Once again you have captured a very dramatic sky.
Alex.

Thanks again Alex, this tower is the only one built slightly pff shore, and is a great place for fishermen who scramble down there at low tide and fish the tide though

I like the drama of the sun on the sea against the darkness of the shore.
