This photo of the Scottish Highlander with her young was a difficult one to print, as they were standing in full shade and they blended a bit in the background. Some dodging and burning was involved to make the cattle stand out a little from the darker background.

Without comparing side by side, I think that this scan is a lot brighter than the print Buzz, as I can actually see the two cattle! Smile

Well, indeed! I always make two prints, one to send and one as a spare (eg in case the mail gets lost), and the difference between my spare print and scan is also significant!
I used an entry-level Epson flatbed scanner for scanning.
This thing does an incredible job, also for negatives.
But if the details are there in the scanned print, I should be able to get them out a bit better in the darkroom as well next time...
