(Hopefully) the pairs of prints uploaded should be next to each other, so easier to compare each of Uwe's and my efforts.

First off, are two b/w versions by Uwe and me, from his negative. A huge difference in tone here, with Uwe's being much lighter than mine.

Secondly, a trial and a final lith print by me. After the first print, I cut a mask to put more light into the window frames, looking outside.

Lith can be a bit temperamental, and two prints made directly after each other with the same exposures can end up totally differently, hence the second lith print a lot darker than the first.

I did want to have a bit more detail in both the walls to show a bit more graffiti, but it was not to be. I'm sure with more time and materials, I may of gotten what I envisioned.

A bit of confusion with the text above.

It states: 'First off, are two b/w versions by Uwe and me, from his negative.' this is incorrect. The first set of prints above are the two lith prints that I made, being a trial print and a final print.

Hi Terry-
Where did the one on the left come from? Are you up all night printing??
This, I think, is a better example of what Lith can do. I don't mind the bright windows as we now have more than enough detail and texture in the ceiling and wall to make up for losing a wee bit in the windows.
Very 'creepy movie' feel, in a good way.

Thanks for the comments Skellum. But no, is the answer to your first question. My sessions are usually in the afternoon, for up to two hours. Anything more than that and I lose the plot!

As mentioned at the top, I too prefer the first lith print - in part, but when I tried to transfer this look across to the second print, but with more tone in the windows, using a mask, I ended up with a much darker print(??) Such is lith, for as said, lith can be pretty unpredictable.
