Taken in Heidelberg (Germany) a year ago. As you see in the technical details, nothing special.

You seem to have made a very good print from "nothing special".

A place, and an image, for contemplation I think. Very nice work. Is it toned? It looks like it from here and I think the warmth adds a lot to the image.

Thanks to both. No toning at all, that's why I said "nothing special". I don't know exactly why, although I think it is related with developer age and temperature, but I get a brownish colour from this paper+developer combination. One day I will do some tests, but if I hate anything that is to do tests.
I have a version on Varycon, very very cold paper, and it is not the same.
The scan version you see here has been modified in PS to try to get the colours of the print. They are not exactly the same, but with my limited PS abilities, that was what I could.
The recipient could tell us how big is the difference.

I agree with Daves comment as soon as I logged on I noticed this image has a very ethereal quality, very good.

I've never managed this much warmth from MGWT without toning, even with a warm tone developer. Anyway, however it was done it looks great Smile.

On my monitor it has a hint of green in the brown warmth which is exactly right for the scene. I look forward to hearing from the recipient.

If it is very close to the print tone then whatever you have done with FBWT and ordinary Ilford MG developer you have devised a great process.

You mention age and temp. Maybe temp is more important with MG developer than Ilford indicates in terms of the outcome.

The green cast is very possible. To adjust the colour to my screen I had to play in PS with the colour balance, and the final colour was adjusted using the green slider. It was very difficult as just one point made it clearly green and one point less was redish.

Thanks Mike, and also to Vincent and Neil.

I have the original print in front of me as I write on Christmas morning. The print is darker overall, while still retaining detail in the shadow areas. There is a trace of warmth, but it far short of that in the scanned version. I prefer the original, the dark tones adding to the mystery of the scene.

That probes how different screen settings could be. I had the print at the side of my laptop screen when I was adusting the tones in Photoshop and when finish, they had almost the same tones. I must admit that if I change the screen angle, the photo looks different.

Anyway, I'm very glad you prefer the paper version over the screen one.
