This a good quality image and the light under the bridge is superb.
The way you have made an image that is both high-key and normal is interesting and comes off well almost to a graphic effect.
The soft light above the bridge provides good recessional degradation of the image in that area with the mystery of the almost invisible building at the end making an effect stop.
I enjoyed viewing this image and I look forward to seeing more from each of you in future print exchanges.
Neil.

Neil, I have looked through the gallery on your website, and I find your images very inspiring. Your kind remarks are all the more meaningful to me in that context. I am pleased that you saw in the photo precisely what we were trying to convey.

I have a confession to make; I love bridges. I don't care who hears it, I'm a bridge lover and I will say it loud and pr-o-u-d!
MAKE BRIDGES NOT TUNNELS, I say!
But more seriously, not only for their structural qualities but also for their innate powerful symbolism.
I see a timeless, historical landmark full of character receding to an anonymous, modern skyscraper.
It's more than just a gorgeous contrast between the old and new. It forms a powerful metaphor commenting on our times and on the medium itself?
Excellent work the both of you... And this perhaps proves the age old adage that 2 heads are better than one.

This is a beautiful shot and the toning effect gives it a real touch of class. I especially like the rippled highlight on the underside of the bridge.

Pavel and I are so encouraged by the comments on our first entry into the print exchange. Marty, as a fellow lover of metaphor, symbol, and narrative, I am very receptive to your analysis of our photo. Pavel and I take very different backgrounds and skills into the darkroom, and we are having an exhilarating ride.

The light and the reflections under the bridge is just so magical, I can't get enough looking at this photograph! Very well done!

As the fortunate recipient of this print I can say that viewing it on a screen doesn't bring out the subtleties of tone especially in the distant building. The combination of the light under the arches and the overall mistiness is remarkable. Sorry Vicki and Pavel for not commenting sooner, I have been up to my eyes the last month or so.

Richard
