It was very windy when I took this from a small headland above the bay and I had to hold the tripod down. The negative was probably a bit overexposed.

Very good action shot with the surfer placed perfectly and standing well on the board. The surf looks good as well with plenty of action going on within the frame. Good surfing images are difficult to take and this one has worked.

A 4-day record, from the UK to NZ.
I've seen even Aussies in wet-suits. It's a good picture, even if it doesn't have the Aussie sunshine. I like the line of the wave leading down to the rider, and the broken surf that's waiting for him when he cans out.

It's a great surf shot. Based on my experience all the more so with only a 200mm lens and the distance. I thought I had some reasonable shots at Trebarwith Sands in Cornwall with a 300mm but my surfers just weren't big enough nor did I catch the wave formations as well as this.
