You'd swear some of these blocks had been cut out by Euclid himself so perfect are the geometric shapes. I like the lone figure. Adds meaning and power to the scene
I am also pleasantly surprised at how little distortion there is with a 15mm lens. I had expected more curvature to the horizon

Mike,
Thanks for your comments. I used the 15/4.5 Cosina Voigtlander Leica Screw mount lens with an M/L39 adapter to fit my M2. It's tiny, but brilliant for the money - I paid about £175 for it (inc the separate VF). It does vignette a bit, but you can't have it all.
This frame was a real pain to wet print. It was printed at grade 5, and even with that, I could have done with a bit more contrast. I have also scanned the negative (naughty, naughty!) and dry printed it. To give you an idea of that, I have posted the tweaked scan here

I'll have to go back to my darkroom and have another go!
Best wishes,
Charlie

Is that Ice instead of water in the puddles ?
I always like to shoot in slightly adverse weather conditions - I get more of a chance of getting the place to myself

I wonder what accounts for such a low contrast neg to need G5 and even then by comparison with the "other method" it is still, as you say, a little low in contrast
It's the grittiness in the rock that has been lost. A puzzle

Martin & Mike,
This was taken in mid July. The place was packed. I just saw this guy go out to the edge and I just followed him for the shot. It's not ice, but seaweed on the rocks that you can see.
The negative doesn't look bad at all on a light box. I took it in the early afternoon. There wasn't much contrast in reality between the basalt rock and the seaweed. Of course, I had to burn the sky in a lot too in order to get the image that I wanted out of that shot.
It only took me about 3-4 minutes on Lightroom to get my dry print, but two evenings in the darkroom! I will have another go, when I've dealt with some other images.
Best wishes,
Charlie
