This picture was taken recently for the degree course in Photography that I have not long started.
It was taken on a Pentax MZ5, using available light in a local theatres restaurant, out of hours at a writers meeting that I go to. It was taken using Ilford XP2 chromogenic film, with a 28 - 70 zoom, with the aperture wide open. The film was processed and printed as enprints at a local Jessops store and then printed by me in the darkroom on Ilford RC MG paper, Pearl surface, using Ilford chemicals at 20 degrees C. A small bit of spotting had to be done, but I just CAN’T seem to get the ink to be the right colour!?! I have tried all the good brands and the BLACK ink always seems to come out as blue when I use it for spotting?!?!? I printed a 10 x8 copy of it for the lady in the picture but I liked it so much, I also printed her a 16 x 12 copy as well. She was extremely chuffed with them and said that it was one of the best photos ever taken of her. So in the end I was very chuffed as well! :-) |
