This print was taken at the end of last summer (2012) at a ĎVillage Greení type event, where a group I belong to were reading some poetry and prose.

The picture was taken inside a marquee, where a small orchestral ensemble were playing various tunes, with the occasional couple and single wheelchair user, getting up to dance.

I had a little trouble making a print that I was happy with as the light was heavily diffused by the marquee material, so there is a slight overall greyness to the light and print, which Iím sure a little bleaching would do wonders for but Iím not experienced enough (or have enough free time) to try that at the moment.

The picture is un-cropped, as I set the panoramic mode on the camera which crops the negative in the camera itself. A bit drastic some say but it encourages one to be brave and look for the perfect composition.

The camera used was a much used and loved Pentax MZ5N and 28 - 80mm lens with Ilford HP5 plus film, developed in Ilford Ilfotec LC29 film developer and other Ilford chemicals, which I also used at the printing stage. The paper used was Ilford MGIV RC Pearl, although I have taken a liking to Satin as well as FB papers of late, WHEN I have the time to use them...

A little touching up was needed on the print, for it doesnít seem to matter how careful one is, there is always a few white spots that need covering and itís something that Iím not very good at, despite all the practice I get!
