This looks cool! I take it you used an IR filter? I like the sky and foliage. I also find, as in this image, that IR film can give an unusual and very attractive rendering of buildings.

I love the look of a good IR shot and this one has made the building look really creepy.

Skellum, this is film sold as Rollei 400S, I take it, so not the IR one but an extended red? This is exactly what I am looking for.

What was the filter used and what speed needed?

I suspect very low but I live in hopes

Thanks

Mike

Hi Mike. This film is edged marked as Agfa. However, in the murky world of film packaging, it either is, or is related to Rollei 400s. That is an extended red sensitivity film rather than true IR. I used the Ilford SFX filter (almost opaque) which gave me a film speed of ISO 6. So not very fast!

The first thing (apart from the IR) that struck me was how right the wide-angle panoramic format is for this image. It's really well conceived and I hope you'll be selling prints.

One small niggle: three corners (lower left and both right) look a bit bitten-off. Maybe a very small crop?

Hi Michael- I do like the combination of panoramic and IR. This was taken on a Russian Horizon camera. The neg is 24mm x 58. Of course my enlarger didn't come with a suitable mask, so I 'altered' the half-frame carrier which I never used with a hack-saw and file. The result is a little uneven- I guess if I'm going to post images here I better get to work cleaning up my neg carrier so it's a bit more even.

Ah - I had thought it was just a feature of the tones at the print's corners against the white background. I'm sure it's not against the rules here to crop a print scan a little.

All that aside, it's an image to be really pleased with.

Thanks Skellum. I suspected that EI 6 was going to be the answer. Pity, as with wide angle DoF I might get away with EI 12 and f8 on a sunny day, giving 1/25th which is hand-holdable.

Looks like it's a tripod or sacrifice shadow detail. I suppose my bean-bag pod that screws into the tripod hole might be OK as a sub for the tripod. Worth a try

I like this one a lot Skellum. One day this year we are going to have a break in the clouds long enough to get the IR film out.
Cheers
