Good control of the highlights and shadows and generally - well printed.

Composition wise maybe the tree is a tad too central but this is a matter of personal preference.

The scan looks a little soft on my monitor so check out your scanning technique as I am sure your print is much sharper.

All in all this is a very good start with excellent lighting that has been well handled to create a satisfying print.

Thank you Neil appreciate your comments. I know exactly what you mean about the positioning if the tree and was of the same opinion myself. Trouble is there is another tree just off left of picture - you can see an upper branch encroaching. Had to crop slightly as it drew the eye away from the main tree. Not ideal.

Yes both scans are soft. Both prints are crisper all round so will investigate.

Fair enough - it would have worked very well with the tree in the centre but for the path to the left which draws your eye away. This is a very start though so keep going :-)

From what I expected a forest scene to be in these light conditions I'd say that this one is better than the multiple tree scene
