Taken on a windy day at Castlerock Beach, Northern Ireland. I was using a slow shutter speed to try to catch some movement in the dune grass, but I think that subtlety has been lost in this lith print. The white object in the middle which looks like the sail of a boat is in fact a painted stone marker on the end of the pier. The River Bann exits into the Atlantic at this point and it is a notoriously difficult place for boats to navigate. I've been experimenting with lith for the first time and have no idea if this is any good or not, but I liked how it came out.

I think you can see the grass movement but the background does lack a bit of detail in that I couldn't work out what the white marker was until you told me but in reality this didn't matter in terms of enjoying the picture

All I would say is that the lith print looks subtly greenish on my screen which suits the dune grass but does it have a greenish tinge or is this a scanner issue or may be my screen?

Thanks

Mike

Thanks Mike. On my monitor I think I see what you mean by the greenish cast. Obviously I no longer have this particular print to hand so can't say for sure, but from memory it was more of a warm beige appearance (which I thought suited the subject quite well too). I'm not sure what that means with regard to monitor/scanner issues Smile

At the moment I'm just getting a feel for lith with different negatives and haven't tried to reproduce any prints I have made. It's a slow process, that's for sure.

Best,
Michael
