Flowerfield House, in Portstewart was built just after the Plantation of Ulster and is now an Arts Centre. It is one of the few 'big houses' from that time that still remain in this area.

This particular shot was taken a few weeks ago, the strong (but cold) winter sunshine on the building contrasting with the general murkiness all around. In this part of the world the light is lovely at this time of year - when the sun decides to put in an appearance, that is. There have been a lot of very grey days recently, which aren't much good for outdoor photography (good for darkroom work, though!).

Great print. Beautiful light. And I love the way the tree branches fill the sky.

Lovely print, and lovely winter light, I know what you mean about the sun, over here we have been getting grey days for the last week, but when we get the winter sun with some broken cloud, a landscape photographer's dream, Well done for the print, love the way the 2 trees fill an otherwise empty sky

The lighting is excellent, but the lit windows to the side really add to the three-dimensional effect.
