This image was made later this month last year. I was looking for a different way of depicting the beauty of blossom our cherry tree produced. I had in the days leading up to this picture watched the wind blow the petals across the grass. It struck me that the sea of pink on the lawn was picturesque. I needed a point of focus in this case one of the dogs discarded toys in a small hollow. It all fell into place when the sun shone through the trees adding a web of shadows completing the composition.

This looks great, Mitch. It’s full of texture, thanks to the well chosen lighting. It must look impressive as the full size print. I always enjoy seeing the Cherry blossom on the trees around here.

A lovely range of tones inviting the eye to wander around the image after being drawn to the central subject.

Nice tonality, and the texture of the Art 300 paper shows a little in the scan. Well chosen for this print, I like it!

Super. I like prints which are full & this is just packed with lines and tones and texture.
