Wanted -Minolta Autocord lens hood

Hi folks
Looking for a square lens hood for the autocord
Thanks
Paddy

If you are looking for a genuine Minolta lens hood for the Autocord then you might have a long wait, if you are happy with any make then you should havve no problem, the Autocorg uses the B1 fitting and B1 fitting lens hoods, filters Ect seem to be asily found

Hi Paddy,
Richard is correct, genuine Autocord hoods are very hard to find. Also, not all Bay I hoods fit the Autocord. E.g. -- Rolleiflex hoods have a wide base flange which interferes with the shutter and aperture controls on the Autocord, so you can't get the hood on. A Yashica Mat hood might work, but I haven't tried it. I ended up buying this, which turned out to be a nice solution:

Well made, and has the advantage of also being a Bay I to 37mm thread adaptor so you can use threaded filters (just take the hood off).

Hope this helps.

I'm glad you chipped in there, Svend - was considering PMing you about this.

Possible source for a lens hood

If you search on line for Peter Loy he sells only classic cameras and that is where I bought my Autocord from. He has a infinite knowledge of what fits what. I have a hood which is un-named but is exactly the same as a Yashica and fits perfectly.

Another place to try is Collectable Cameras, again just search on line for the telephone number. He has just set up a new website that looks a bit sparse but he may have what you are looking for.

Alternatively there is the company called Mr Cad who is based in London, but expect to pay a little bit more.

Lens Hood

To save you calling Peter Loy mentioned above, I had to call him on
another matter today and he had hoods but they are for a Rollie so possibly no good to you. They are also quite expensive £25/£27. I paid £5 for my after marker one.

Cheers Michael. And yes, after our back-and-forth over this question I learned a thing or two about Autocord hoods :)

Hope all is well with you!

Get in the queue (After me)

There are really as rare as hens teeth or possibly rarer. TLR caps for Rollie, Yashica and the others all have their lenses at differing centres apart. If you are handy you may be able to make something, but out of what I have no idea .

The problem was the original ones were plastic and had a habit of being knocked of and you didn't hear it fall.
