Any suggestions as to what fixer he may have used?

It's an interesting and credible theory. I understand that the shroud doesn't get exposed to the light very often, something that I think helps it's longevity, so maybe a fixer is unnecessary.

My theory is that Leonardo must have has access to black tea, in order to tone his beautiful blueprint. Or he cornered the oakbark market.

Maybe Jesus looked a lot like Leo and was himself the world's first photographer. His dad apparently knew a thing or two and could have passed on some hints...

I watched this last night. It was advertised as a new theory to the origination of the shroud's image but I saw a program about ten years ago stating the same theory.

It certainly appears more feasible than any of the other theories.

Steve.

Is this Leonardo guy a member of FADU if not, then why not?

It seems he only does ultra-large format, and uses weird film.

I suspect the revered artefact that has come down to us is nothing more than the cast off peel-apart negative of a Polaroid.

In which case, what happened to the print?
