Hello all!
Hello,
I am new to the forum and new to film photography in general. I have recently picked myself up a Canon AE-1 and a Lomography Diana F+. I hope to learn how to develop my own film in the near future. If there are any users in Scotland who might have information on how I can go about this it would be greatly appreciated. I have found getting certain film types developed expensive and I can't really find places that develop black and white film as well as 120 film. Anyway, I do have a couple of questions that I will ask in the appropriate forums. I just wanted to say hello and I hope to speak to some of you in the near future. |
Welcome to fadu Damon.

Hello Damon. FADU sounds like the right place for you.

Hi Damon. I'm in Glasgow. Are you nearby? I do all my own processing of B&W , 35mm, 120 and 4x5. It's very straightforward and economical. I would suggest getting a Paterson Universal tank which does 2x35, or 1x120 film. A changing bag helps. Chemicals are available in Glasgow and Edinburgh, or online, but postage puts the cost up. You need some measuring cylinders, but not much else.

Welcome to FADU, Damon. B&W with a minimum of equipment doesn't require a "rocket science" degree to do as Alex has said.
I've seen your other post on what I strongly suspect is old C41(colour neg) film. That's slightly different and I'd recommend a mini-lab for that until you try and are happy with B&W processing Mike |
Welcome from me too Damon.
