New Nova Print Processors.
 

The Imaging Warehouse site has had an announcement for some time telling us that a new range of Nova print processors will be unveiled in November-December 2019.
November has come and gone with no information so far.

Apart from telling me to be patient and see what Christmas brings, does anybody have any news?

The Nova processors and washers were made by Graham New, who retired recently. His sons developed a new model. Possibly it's that:

I would have backed it then, if I could spend more time in the darkroom and have direct water supply there.

Cannik whenever anybody says this then I appreciate it can sound like saying "I am all right Jack " so raspberries to you when that is not what is meant but it may be something that is affecting your set-up only for whatever reason

New they may be but at eye watering prices! I use a NOVA for colour printing but I cannot see the real advantage of using one for black and white.

Viewing the developing print in a dish, apart from being aesthetically pleasing, it is also a place where post exposure can be carried out to slightly change the appearance of the print.

Has no one else but myself ever lifted a print out of the developer because the highlights were not clearly defined enough and then brushed on neat developer to give it that extra little boost.

Or removing the print from the developer and rinsing over areas that were getting a little too dark to slow down the process whilst the un-rinsed areas continued to develop normally.

Or even rubbing an area of a print with a finger dipped in neat developer to get that little bit more contrast.

Yes they sound crude but they do work and to be effective you have to watch them closely in the development stage to know when to start the 'treatment'.

I haven't the space for trays to do b/w printing, so the Nova units suit me fine for this.

Also, apart from the warm up time, the unit is ready to go and is really quick to pack up at the end of a session. They are especially useful when I have limited time available and want to do a short printing session.

I'm sure the above reasons are also the reasons why others purchased a unit as well.

Have you ever tried to do anything similar, it actually works and is a very old technique used well before the advent of Multigrade papers. Please do not mock!

Not mocking - seriously wondering what effect this would have?
