I'm surprised it doesn't have "rare" in the description.

It is rare. From the condition this clearly saw heavy action in the trenches of The Somme. Now we know what all those vintage prints of Tommies hunkered down behind the barber wire were printed on. Further evidence, this LPL enlarger is branded 'Gnome' to confuse the enemy should it fall into their hands.

For 50 quid I might take it away

When I clicked on the link it also showed some other items. The real antique Houghton Butcher easel looks great. The more interesting thing, though, was the range of LPL negative holders, including a glass 4x5. I think someone here was perhaps looking for one recently?

I'm often amazed at what people try to flog on ebay, often at ridiculous prices.

Amongst his listings are a glass negative of an '1870 Portrait of a Man', which for some reason he says is 'copyright protected'?

And even further down the list is a HP5 roll of film that is listed as 'used' and described by ebay I presume as 'Condition: Used: An item that has been previously used.' All this for just £9.00!!!

I'm sure there'll be a 'hipster type' buyer along any minute...

This one tickles me. When I saw the word used I couldn't help think about the joke - probably on a McGill postcard where the notice inside the hotel says: "All the water in this establishment has been passed by the management" :D

Mike.
