Used these in the 70s, one of the originals and the fact they are still going 50 years later tells you something :)

For what it’s worth my view is that the Cokin brand is worth trying, I still have some from years ago. When new, these filters are very good but you have to be careful not to scratch them, since the resin material is quite soft and delicate. If buying secondhand check the photos carefully.

Sizes are 84mm, 100mm or 130mm - see the link above

My Cokin red and orange filters get a lot of use, but I have not used the effects filters. As Dave says, they are easily scratched so I keep mine in a soft holder.

Back in the early 80's I became fascinated with the effects filters, and tey were a bit of fun, and kept well, I have also used their black and white filters, and again good quality, but as Bob says they need to be stored carefully as they can scratch easily, I kept mine in a Cokin storage bax and only handled them by the edges,
Richard

Paul, maybe this brochure will help. It explains the A-P-Z-X system series and has the filter codes. I have some A-P-X but these days I tend to use so few filters that I use glass in a Heliopan system.

Page 19 states all of the filter widths. The A series being 67mm wide and can be used on lenses with a maximum diameter of 62mm.

Have the Cokin A series filters had different dimensions over the years?

Dave beat me to it!
