Northern Photo Electronic Services

Does anyone know if Northern Photo Electronic Services in Leeds is still in business. I tried phoning them using the number on their website but it's no longer in operation and nobody's replied to the email I sent them a week ago.

I've never used them, but just checking, they appear to have moved some time(?), so just checking you have tried the most currently listed details:

Yes, that's the website and telephone number I tried.
Is there anyone in the UK handling Durst equipment?

Yes, there was...
Please, check this thread;

I got curious and while I am not very good at navigating Google Maps but I can't see any sign of Northern Photo on Pickering Street and when you call the number the automated BT voice says "number not recognised"

I have sent an e-mail and so far it has not come back saying undeliverable so there may be still hope but the signs aren't good

Thanks Marty. It doesn't sound too hopeful though, given the passage of years.

I managed to make my own substitute "green filter" screen from thin aluminium sheet - so that one is solved. I'll have to keep my fingers crossed that nothing major breaks down!

The problem Marty is that that thread's beginning is 2009 and its end is 2014. Unfortunately anything might have happened in the intervening 7 years

I don’t think anyone does Durst spares anymore. The person who had the remaining stocks (Northern Photo?) sold off a lot of stuff on eBay a few years ago. You sometimes see parts for sale, or even a head assembly which could have the bit you need. I think you can work without it, anyway, as it is only needed for copying, rather than enlarging. Blanking off the opening, as you have done, should work perfectly well for enlarging. You might even achieve a better light seal than the original part.
