Private messages: downloading

I see that there's the option to download private messages in any of three formats. As I use Mozilla Thunderbird as an e-mail platform, it would be handy to store useful private messages along with my various e-mail folders.

Does anyone else here do this? I'd be interested to know, no matter which e-mail platform they use.

As .txt is one of the download options, that could be a fallback; but I've a hunch that .csv, which I have never used, might be the one to go for.

I have only used the *.csv format for spreadsheets. I am not sure what it would do to text files. Perhaps 'copy and pasting' the PMs would be a way of transferring them.

That is what I would have suggested. Along with a date as well so they are accessible in order they were received

All Incoming PMs from FADU also get sent by email so are already in my Thunderbird Inbox.

I export as CVS and open in Libre Office if needed.
