Hello from Chipperfield
My father introduced me to darkrooms many years ago and I enjoyed it for years. My first camera was a Rolleiflex twin lens which I remember paying £25 for second hand and I regret getting rid of it for the 'more modern' 35mm. Due to lack of time and space I stopped when I started working but 30 years later my daughter started GCSE photography and got me back into it. I bought an enlarger for £45 and found some of my other kit (including a perfectly good enlarger lens) hidden away in the loft and bought the rest of the the kit from RK who have been great. I bought my daughter a Canon 500N and gave her my 60D for digital. Good excuse to get myself a 90D. Enjoying the magic of the darkroom once again.

Welcome Mark. I cannot work out how long ago exactly it was when you bought the Rolleiflex Twin but it sounds like at least 30 years ago and probably longer when in fact £25 took a lot more out of a wallet than it does now
When I see photo mags from the 50s and 60s certainly and really much more recently I realise that from a consumer's wallet point of view that those were not "the golden decades" Mike |
Welcome & enjoy, Mark!
