Hello from SE London
Hi there, my name is Spencer and I have been working with mostly B/W film for a little while. I would say a long while but this was a hobby that became a passion when I was 14 and I am now 29. I am sure a few of you have been in this game for longer than I! So I joined as I am by no means an expert, just a hobbyist who would love to learn from you guys and take part in some amazing topics.
I use 35mm cameras and have decided to develop negatives and scan them in. The motive for this is a) fun and b) the cost of processing! Sadly I am not in a position to print my photos but I have invested in a scanner so I'm excited for that :) |
Welcome aboard Spencer!
You will find developing film is not difficult and can be done without the need for a darkroom etc which can sometimes be difficult to organise (it is a lot of fun tho!). It's only the developer stage that requires close temperature and time control, but even then, being a few percent out is not going to ruin anything. As we are a strictly a chemical process only type of site, we can't help with the scanning, post-processing, etc, but do feel free to ask anything about film and developing etc. Who knows, we may be able to entice you into darkroom printing later :) Have fun. |
Welcome to fadu, Spencer.

Hi Spencer and welcome.
originally from SE London myself. Do you knoe of Photofusion? they are in Brixton and a great ressource for photography, sadly closed at present of course, but they (will be soon hopefully) run all types of photo courses including printing if you wanted to have a go later. https://www.photofusion.org/ |
welcome spencer. i am based in south east london myself. In nunhead close to peckham and dulwich. I am like yourself i have come here to learn from experienced photographers. From being here i can say people are extremely helpful, the atmosphere is great also not bitchy or snobbish like other forums.
