Filtration
Taking Ilford at their word, I have no reason to believe otherwise that upwards from Gd 4 there will be change of sensitivity, This was certainly the case with MG4. However as I said before, going...

Filters
I now always use the B&W enlarger with below the lens filters, but the grading of the paper is such I have never had to use a Gd3. My exposures are usually from 2 downwards. Once the exposure is set...

Immediate shortage
It isn't an immediate shortage this has been on the cards for several months with sporadic supplies now they seem to have completely dried up.
The price of film has gone up and up and I expect...

Colour Neg Film
Just what are Kodak and Fuji playing at? I have checked all the usual suppliers for Kodak and Fuji 200ISO film and there is simply none to be had.
I can get Fuji 400 Superia which is too fast for...

I may as well confess. About 22 years ago I was still photographing weddings and against competition from professionals, I won a contact for a wedding in a beautiful village church in Sussex. The...

Contrast
As I find it easier to print using separate filters rather dialling in the colour I think I may continue to use the M60. than I think I may have to modify my processing. I am thinking of reducing...

Snow scene
There is another problem in this image which may or may not be apparent in the print and that is directly above each of the fence posts there is a increase of negative contrast. This film was...

Prints on MG5
I stated earlier it was MG3 - a typo. (It was late at night)
Anyway four prints from the Durst as attached. The enlarger lens was a 80/5.6 a quite old Rodagon which I have had for years, but still...

Condenser enlargers
It is difficult to say about 'sharpness' at present because the largest MG5 paper I have is 9.5x12 but I can say the contrast is UP and I yet have to make a cropped print. I may have difficulty in...

More on MG5
A few months ago, I was given an old Durst M60 B&W enlarger and I used it for the 1st time today. The contrast with the condensers was higher than I remembered and almost too much to handle....

Todays walk
A bit of a non event! Firstly I took the wrong camera, the difference visually in subdued lighting, between a F6 and a D600 is small and guess which one I picked up? You cannot put film in a D600 is...

I have always been a bit suspicious of odourless fixer (as I am with odourless stop bath) I may be wrong, but perhaps the new fixer is OK to use for normal prints, but not when it is used on an image...

I am assuming this is a normal 'sepia' tone so from what I remember if the washing is incomplete what will happen is that area will remain darker than the other rest. I don't think this is a washing...

I will go along with the F2 being possibly the most rugged SLR ever made. So long as there are skilled technicians who can repair them they will continue to be usable.
There is one, a guy called...

It was me. I checked the thickness of MG4 and MG5 using a micrometer and also with a vernier calliper gauge and they were identically the same thickness.
