My first 4x5 was a Wista 45DX, this was in the last century. I still have it and I would recommend it. Don't fail to look up Bulldog cameras either. I wouldn't even consider any MPP, not enough...

I've used step up / step down rings in the past. For real cheapness I've used roof and gutter sealant. It ain't pretty but it's still working.
