Default Missing link!

I wonder, are you loading the film but not winding on sufficiently so your 1st frame is not actually exposed. Film leaders used to more generous than they are today and this can be seen with the amount of 'leader' that I have to cut off when I use either of my Nikon film bodies. I can get 36 exp from a full length roll and no more, even if the camera allowed it.

The time you got 1/2 of the 1st exposure you mentioned this first full frame was 0, but 00 was not visible. I doubt if it has anything to do with the amount of chemistry you use. When I use my Nikon F6/F100 the 1st frame when loaded correctly is always '1' and the last frame 36.

When I use my Minolta XM/XE1 bodies I can get away with a much shorter leader and can usually get 38 exp with no problem, but the end of the start leader is very close to the 1st exposure.
