Looks quite good, Brian, although it is always difficult to know if it matches Fuji Superia from a scan of a neg or print.
When I think about it logically it can't really be the same or as good, can it? If it was, then the cheap Vista would simply drive out the more expensive Fuji from the market place, wouldn't it and that would hardly be in Fuji's interest, surely? Maybe it's quality relationship to Fuji Superia is similar to say Ilford D400 to Kentmere 400, although always difficult to relate two B&W films' relationships to two colour neg films? So anyone here tried both the Vista and Fuji Superia who can compare? Mike |

I have used Fuji 200 as well as the Vista recently.
The edge marking on the Vista says 'C49 200N CA24'. The Fuji says '533 S200 CA23 Fuji'. I understand that CA23 and CA24 are the emulsion number. S-200 is Fuji Superia. There has been much speculation on the internet about this film but it seems certain that the film I have was made by Fuji. Brian |

Brian, I'll take it that as you have used both films - the Fuji 200 and the Vista 200 - and haven't said otherwise that you'd consider the Vista to match the Fuji.

I would say that the Fuji has the edge, but having said that for many purposes it is handy to have a cheap film that is acceptable. The prices are roughly £4.50 to £1 and I wouldn't say that the Fuji is 4 times better.

Thanks Brian. I suspect that if most of the prints are 5x7 then the difference in quality is probably minimal. If the Vista could produce the odd 8x10 at an acceptable level and it very well migh,t then as you say why pay about 4 times as much.
